This post is intended to explain most things that people get wrong about Quantum Physics. Also to give an explanation on what Quantum Physics is, And what it’s not.
What is Quantum Physics?
Basically, Quantum Physics is the study of things that are at the scale of an atom or smaller. Understanding how things work and the smallest scale gives a deeper understanding of the inner working of the universe.
This field is considered the hardest because of the level of complexity Systems with quantum behavior don’t follow the rules that we are used to, they are hard to see and hard to “feel”, can have controversial features, exist in several different states at the same time – and even change depending on whether they are observed or not.
In simple words, Things get wierd at the Quantum Scale. For example, Super Position, where a quantum system as the ability to be multiple states at the same time until it is measured. If you didn’t understand that, It’s okay! This is Quantum Physics! No one understands it actually. That’s what we’re trying to do. This is the next big thing because understanding quantum physics for humans will lead to big innovations in technology and science, Such as the Quantum Computer. Which, Instead of bits, uses Qubits. Which is the quantum version of the classical bit, Using superposition to be both 1 and 0 at the same time.
What is not Quantum Physics?
Quantum Physics is not some force of nature that allows you to travel through time by getting small. Although this may be possible in the future where humanity has become a type 2 civilization. And yes of course I’m talking about Avengers Endgame. It’s not only that, It seems to be a common thing for movies to use fancy words like Quantum Physics with teleportation, time travel. This is directly equivalent to Movies showing hackers as people who stay in the basement and are looking at a dark screen with green text.
If in future time travel is discovered, Then someone might have attended Stephen Hawking’s party! Don’t know about that? In 2009, Stephen Hawking ran an experiment that required champagne, balloons, and hors d’oeuvres, to demonstrate that backward time travel probably isn’t possible. It was a time travelers’ party but no one showed. And that was the point.
He only sent out invitations after the party. And that invitation is still out, For future time travelers to attend his party. Anyway, With all the respect we all have for Stephen Hawking, He would agree that this does not prove that time travel is possible or not. There might be alternate realities being made due to time travel.
Anyway back to my point, If we lived in a world where a man is able to embed nanotechnology in his body, A God able to control lightning and thunder, And an Alien from titan, It would seem probable for time travel and even more sci-fi actions to be possible.
Movies and TV Shows show such possibilities to inspire. What we think is not possible today, Will be possible tomorrow.
Some Fun facts
There are alot of things waiting to be discovered. WE humans have only started understanding reality, And we only know as little as 1% I’d say. Considering how HUGE the universe is.
- The Quantum Computer would change EVERYTHING about modern day technology.
- Time Travel is actually Possible, But is out of reach for Humans.
- There are alot of Planets we can go and live. But we only don’t have the technology to go there.
- The speed of light, 299792458 m/s. Is the fastest speed in the universe. Which is too slow to explore the universe.
- The nearest habitable Planet is 4.24 light years away. One light–year is about 6 trillion miles (9 trillion km). If we go at the speed of light, It would take 4.24 Years to reach it.
- If you don’t already know about Time Dilation, This is a real effect that you can also experiment with. It shows how time is relative and different for everyone.
There is a String Theory that is also called the Theory of everything. String theory is a theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings.
It says that different types of particles with their mass and other properties are a result of the the vibrational state of the string.
String theory is yet to be proved true.
In Conclusion, Quantum Physics is the study of things that go on at the Quantum Scale. The scale of atoms and smaller. This is the smallest one line explanation that one could give.

I explained what quantum physics is in reality compared to what it’s shown in Avengers endgame and other movies.
